Scenario:  T & N Cement Public Company Limited was established in 1997 and has developed to become a leading cement producer. The company is an expert in cement business and a trustworthy provider of related building materials. To maintain and continue our excellence, we need new people who are energetic and eager to learn new things to be part of our team.

 
 
Scenario:  You are now hired by T & N Cement Public Company Limited as its customer care agent. As part of the new staff orientation on ethical concerns, you, together with 2 members of your team, are assigned are to come up with the following documents:


 

Assignment 3: Concerning Audience and Purpose  

 

Scenario: The last section of the new staff orientation is about the importance of audience and purpose. As the company’s customer care agent, you are assumed to know your audience and purpose of the Customer Services Department. You and your team members are assigned to write the following:

 

 

Assignment 4: Writing Proposals

 

Scenario: The Customer Services Department where you work is planning to request for authorization and funding from the company to renovate the foyer of the customer services section. The foyer houses counters that offer services to walk-in customers. The reason of the renovation is to improve the foyer’s interior design and decoration. The Customer Services Department wants to create first impression to customers when they step into the section. As a customer care agent, you, together with 2 members of your team, are assigned to write an internal proposal, which asks for the permission and funding to renovate the foyer from the company’s vice president.

 

Assignment 5: Writing Reports

 

Scenario: The internal proposal you wrote for the Customer Services Department has been approved and the foyer of the Customer Services section has been renovated. According to the proposal, the renovation will last about three months. Now that it’s in the first month of the renovation, you, together with your team members, are assigned to write a progress report to describe the renovation of the Customer Services’ foyer section. Due to the possible delay of the renovation, you also have to mention it in the report. The delay, which will extent the renovation to one more month, occurs because of some materials used for tiling and carpeting were run out of stock. The constructing company that is hired for the renovation has to order the materials from an agent in Spain. It will take about three-four weeks for the order. Your team to write the progress report to the company’s vice president, Tanita Saenkhum.

Assignment 6: Preparing for Oral Presentations

 

Scenario: In addition to the progress report, you and your team members as representatives of the Customer Services Department have to present the report in front of the company’s Board of Committee. Your job is to prepare a PowerPoint Presentation to deliver the main content of the progress report.

 

Assignment 7: Writing Instructions and Manuals

 

Scenario: The Customer Services Department is recreating its website in order to facilitate new customers who want to apply for the company’s membership. The existing instructions of the online application confused customers and, at the same time, we receive a lot of complaints from them every day. The department’s manager assigns you and your team members to write the instructions of the online application for the company’s membership. The instructions will appear on the website and guide customers step by step for the application. One thing that you need to have in mind is that customers are new to the Internet; the instructions need to be easy to understand and follow.
